  Vals has been a mainstay in Hayward forever. They make great burgers (in 3 sizes) and their breakfasts are terrific. Prices are very reasonable. . Their milkshakes are a must--and big enough to share.I don't think the diner has changed a bit in all the years we have been going. The food is consistently good. Fries, onion rings and the rest make it not the most healthy diet- but it sure is good! Service is always great and friendly--just remember to bring cash--no credit cards! Also their seating makes it difficult for a party over 6. 8 of us squeezed into a table and it worked but it was tight (especially after the milkshakes, etc.)

  Love this place! Great food. The bar area can get very loud so be aware of that. Most of the time the food is delivered quickly. It is always hot and delicious. My favorite is the super grilled chicken burrito. My second favorite is a combination plate with chicken enchilada and crispy taco. My Dad loves the shrimp and bean burrito, he says he get a shrimp in every bite!

  “Amazing Dinner”
  Acqua E' Farina is in the Green Shutter building where Rue d' Main used to be - in downtown Hayward. The food is authentic and the quality is fantastic. They offer a broad menu along with daily specials. Great appetizers, too. My wife had chicken pesto pasta, and I had the special - Seafood pasta.
